Church History

Pastor Emeritus Wilbur Allen, Jr. and Mother Charlotte Allen where saved in 1965 at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ under the pastorate of the late Elder Lee Nucklos. The late Bishop R.S. Fields ordained him an Elder in July, 1973. He began his ministry by conducting street services. On August 20th, 1988, the late Bishop William James appointed Pastor Allen to the office of Jurisdictional Devotional Chairman of the Ohio North Jurisdiction #1. For fifteen years, Pastor Allen was assistant devotional leader to the late Elder J.H. Anderson.

Mother Allen is truly a handmaiden of the Lord. She is a meticulous woman that is a role model of role models. Mother Allen often says that “Every single day the Lord does something special for me.” Mother is a 1963 graduate of Akron school of Practical Nursing of the University of Akron

Upon the urging of the Lord, Elder Wilbur H. Allen, Jr. obeyed God’s call to start a ministry. After locating a storefront building complex on the corner of Lawrence Road and Spring Avenue N.E. in Canton, Ohio, Elder Allen secured the building. Upon completion of the rehab project then called Grace Parish C.O.G.I.C, held it’s first services on June 24, 1979. Pastor Allen preached and prayed, and the power of God moved and the house was shaken! The Lord saved and added souls to the church continuously. Truly God established the church. The church hosted the Late Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr. as a gust speaker for the church benefit dinner. Ministries included a free clothing center which was a blessing to church members as ell as the community. In 1985 under the pastors leadership, the church purchased and remodeled Turner’s Chapel United Methodist Church and renamed it All Saints Temple C.O.G.I.C. After serving twenty six years as pastor of All Saints Temple, Elder Wilbur Allen, Jr. Elected to retire from parish ministry. The congregation unanimously accepted Elder Wilbur H. Allen III as pastor.  On August 14, 2005, Bishop Walter Earl Jordon, Jurisdictional Bishop of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Ohio North, formally installed him. Pastor Wilbur Allen Jr. and Mother Charlotte Allen have sacrificed greatly for the Lord’s work and truly the Lord continues to bless them.
